Prevailing-wage levels I–IV in Colorado

The Department of Labor sets a prevailing wage at four levels. An offer must meet the prevailing wage for the level the job is filed at.

LevelShare of filingsTypical prevailing wageMedian offer
Level II49%$94,307$95,035
Level III21%$117,333$128,830
Level IV17%$140,338$144,200

The level describes the job, not the pay. It is set by the role’s education, experience and supervision requirements, so an offer above the Level III figure is not thereby a Level III job. The typical prevailing wage is the median across filings in Colorado; the actual rate depends on the worksite’s metro area — look it up in the Department of Labor’s OFLC Wage Search.

Shares are of the 167 filings with a recorded level; 10 had none. Levels with fewer than 25 filings are not shown. Wage levels, explained.

How to read these numbers

Is the offered wage the same as take-home pay?
No. It is the gross annual wage the employer stated on the Labor Condition Application — before tax, and excluding bonus, equity and benefits. Where a range was filed, the lower bound is used, because that is the wage the employer is bound to. How wages are normalised.
What are these percentiles based on?
Offered wages on H-1B Labor Condition Applications filed with the Department of Labor for this occupation and worksite state in FY2024–FY2026, annualised and limited to $20,000–$1,000,000. An LCA is not a visa, and a filed wage is not proof of what was eventually paid. What an LCA is.
Why only the last three fiscal years?
Pay moves over time, so ranking a current offer against older filings would overstate where it falls. FY2026 may still be partial: the Department of Labor releases disclosure data quarterly, so its counts can grow in a later update.
How exact is the percentile?
It is interpolated between the published 5th, 10th, … 95th percentiles, so treat it as approximate. Offers outside the 5th–95th range are reported as below or above it, and cells with fewer than 100 filings are rounded to the nearest 5. The full method.
Do the wage levels tell me which level my job is?
No. The level on a filing is set by the job’s requirements — education, experience and supervision — not by the salary, and the actual prevailing wage depends on the metro area of the worksite. The figures here are medians across filings; the Department of Labor’s OFLC Wage Search gives the official rate for a specific area. OFLC Wage Search (DOL).
Why is my occupation or state missing?
The calculator covers occupations and states with a published Sponsor Finder breakdown, and only where at least 25 offered wages were filed in the window. Smaller combinations are omitted rather than shown with unreliable numbers.
Is this legal or immigration advice?
No. It is an estimate from public filing data, meant as context when weighing an offer. For decisions about a specific petition or wage, consult an immigration attorney.
