This directory shows H-1B worksite filings across all 56 US states and territories. H-1B work is heavily concentrated in a small number of states, with California accounting for 753,475 filings—more than any other state. Texas and New York follow with 500,095 and 308,634 filings respectively.

The top ten states by H-1B filings are California, Texas, New York, Washington, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. Together, these ten states account for the majority of H-1B sponsorships. States with smaller populations and less developed tech and professional sectors typically have fewer H-1B filings.
