- No. It is the gross annual wage the employer stated on the Labor Condition Application — before tax, and excluding bonus, equity and benefits. Where a range was filed, the lower bound is used, because that is the wage the employer is bound to. How wages are normalised.
- What are these percentiles based on?
- Offered wages on H-1B Labor Condition Applications filed with the Department of Labor for this occupation and worksite state in FY2024–FY2026, annualised and limited to $20,000–$1,000,000. An LCA is not a visa, and a filed wage is not proof of what was eventually paid. What an LCA is.
- Why only the last three fiscal years?
- Pay moves over time, so ranking a current offer against older filings would overstate where it falls. FY2026 may still be partial: the Department of Labor releases disclosure data quarterly, so its counts can grow in a later update.
- How exact is the percentile?
- It is interpolated between the published 5th, 10th, … 95th percentiles, so treat it as approximate. Offers outside the 5th–95th range are reported as below or above it, and cells with fewer than 100 filings are rounded to the nearest 5. The full method.
- Do the wage levels tell me which level my job is?
- No. The level on a filing is set by the job’s requirements — education, experience and supervision — not by the salary, and the actual prevailing wage depends on the metro area of the worksite.
