Summary

California dominates H-1B worksite filings with 1.68 million total filings, more than 70% ahead of Texas, which ranks second with 994k filings. New York follows in third place with 779k filings. These three states account for a substantial share of all H-1B worksite activity.

The next tier includes New Jersey (534k), Illinois (428k), and Washington (407k). Massachusetts, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania each exceed 290k filings, reflecting strong H-1B sponsorship in tech hubs, financial centers, and major metropolitan areas. North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland round out the top 15, each with over 145k filings.

H-1B worksite filings are concentrated in states with large technology, finance, healthcare, and professional services sectors. California's lead reflects the presence of Silicon Valley and major tech companies, while Texas and New York capture significant activity in Dallas, Houston, and the New York City area.
